All about my travels in and outside of New Zealand.

Kaikoura – South Island, New Zealand

In October 2010, I visited the coastal town Kaikoura, on the South Island in New Zealand.

It is a very beautiful little town and you can go whale watching, dolphin or shark swimming,  and many more things.

I went on an Albatross Encounter and I saw the seals along the coastline of Kaikoura.

If you ever go to Kaikoura, make sure to try out the seafood which is delicious in most of their resaurants.

This is a short video with footage I took when I visited Kaikoura.

Short trip to Canberra

Flying to Canberra for a 24 hour visit. Stressful!

View from Capital Hill in Canberra, Australia

New Zealand doesn’t have a Swedish Embassy and nowadays, swedish citizens overseas have to apply for a passport at an embassy. Therefore, I had to travel to Canberra the other week for a trip to the Swedish Embassy.

Parliament House on Capital Hill in Canberra, Australia

During my very short visit to Canberra I visited capital hill and the Parliament house, the National Gallery and the city itself of course. I wish I had had a little more time so that I could’ve visited the National Library, but there might be a next time. =o)

The photos in this blog were taken with a “point-and-shoot” film camera. They’re not great, but I’m sharing them with you anyway.

Good Times

Remembering a time of warm weather, “living” in a car, and wildlife right outside the window.

Elephants in Samburu, Kenya.

It’s been 6 months already, since I went on a safari in Kenya. I look back at it with a smile on my face and lots of good memories to pick from.

A female lion amusing some tourists in Maasai Mara, Kenya.

I remember in particularly the big pride of lions (22 of them) in Maasai Mara, the Maasai warriors wonderful performances, the elephant families in Samburu, the beautiful Buffalo Weavers performing their special little dance.

I also remember the wild dogs in Samburu and Ol Pejeta, the Northern White Rhinos at Ol Pejeta, the beautiful zebras, giraffes, cheetahs, flamingos at Lake Nakuru and much, much more.

Being on safari was one of the best things I have ever done, and I hope I get to do it again in the future.

Have you ever been on a safari? Where did you go and what did you like the most about it?
